Candace Winterbauer, RD LD
Baby Led Weaning Workshop
Since Candace started her dietetics career in 2013, the most rewarding part has been watching clients succeed with their health goals. As a dietitian for the Washington University Heart Care Institute, Candace helped patients manage their weight, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease through diet using up to date medical nutrition therapy.
In 2017, Candace’s daughter was discovered to have elevated lead levels which caused her to dive into current dietary research on lead exposure and abatement in order to help her daughter’s body heal. This ultimately led to her current focus of Baby Led Weaning. In early 2018, Candace started her own company to help support families with nutrition education, provide 1:1 nutrition counseling, and to teach Baby Led Weaning both individually and through workshops.
Candace’s background is originally in chemistry where she worked in the food and beverage industry for 5 years. A career move led her to Saint Louis University where she decided to follow a passion of food, education, and community. She then received her masters in Nutrition and Physical Performance and became a Registered Dietitian. She is now a mother of three, loving the ups, downs, laughs, and tears while connecting with community through food.
