Ballet and Creative Movement
Kristin is originally from Kansas City, Missouri, where she started ballet at the age of 3. As she started to get more serious with ballet, she began training with Kansas City Ballet. Kristin attended summer intensives on scholarship at Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Houston Ballet.
In 2013, she received “Top 12” at the Youth America Grand Prix and was invited to the finals in New York City. After attending Houston Ballet’s summer intensive, she was invited to their year-round, all-day academy where she graduated in 2014. After graduation she received her first professional contract with Kansas City Ballet, where she danced for two seasons. She then received a contract with Cincinnati Ballet and danced there for one season.
In 2017 Kristin decided to become a freelance artist because she had so much interest in teaching, choreographing and directing. In 2018 she founded the non-profit Beyond Ballet. Beyond Ballet Company is a group of freelance professional ballet dancers, you can find them performing throughout the city! Kristin had always loved teaching children and saw a need for classical ballet lessons in Cincinnati, so soon after she created the Vaganova Ballet Children’s Curriculum.
Some of her favorite repertoire includes George Balanchine’s Serenade, Devon Carney’s Swan Lake and Gissele, Septime Weber’s Alice (in wonderland) and original works by Anthony Krutzkamp. Beyond Ballet is a dance company focused on bringing dance throughout the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.
